Lower eyelid laser surgery
2 techniques for Lower Eyelid Surgery:
Transcutaneous Approach: The incision will be made just below the lower lash line. Excess skin in the lower eyelid is removed through this incision. A well placed incision can be virtually invisible when fully healed. This approach can benefit those who have sagging skin and the orbicularis oculi muscle (the muscle which supports the eyelid).
Transconjunctival Approach: The incision is made inside the lower eyelid, and excess fatty material is removed. The benefit of this approach is the incision will not be visible, even a close up eye exam will not reveal signs of surgery. The shape of the eye is typically better preserved as the orbicularis oculi muscle is fully preserved.
